About these terms

Detailing Autos is a mobile car detailing service based in Schaumburg, Illinois, operated by MaxUSA LLC, an Illinois limited liability company. These terms apply when you book a service with us. By booking, you agree to them.

What we do

We come to you and clean your vehicle — exterior hand washing, interior deep cleaning and the add-on services listed on our website. We work across the Chicago northwest and western suburbs; our current service area is listed on our website and may change.

There are jobs we do not take:

• We do not clean engine bays.
• We do not do biohazard or trauma-scene cleaning, including anything involving serious injury or death. If you need that, we will tell you and point you to a licensed specialist.
• We do not carry out mechanical, body or paint repair.

Prices and quotes

Prices on our website are starting prices by vehicle class, and the estimate from our online calculator is an estimate, not a final bill. The final price depends on the size of the vehicle and its condition.

• Heavy condition — vehicles with ground-in salt, pet hair, or heavy soiling carry a surcharge of 25–35%.
• Second vehicle — a second vehicle at the same address is $30 off.

Booking and arrival

Appointments can be booked online, by phone or by text. A booking is confirmed when we confirm it to you.

We give you an arrival window rather than an exact minute. Traffic, weather and the job before yours can move us; if we are running late we will tell you.

Cancelling and rescheduling

• Tell us at least 24 hours ahead and it costs nothing — we will find another day that suits you.
• Inside 24 hours, we charge half the price of the booked service, because the slot was held for you and we turned other work away to keep it.
• Weather is our problem, not yours. If conditions would spoil the result, we move the appointment ourselves and there is no charge.
• If nobody is there and the vehicle cannot be reached at the agreed time, we treat it as a cancellation inside 24 hours.

What we need from you

• A safe, legal place to park and work next to the vehicle.
• Access to the vehicle, including keys if we need to move seats or start it.
• Take out valuables, documents and anything personal before we arrive. Loose items we find are bagged and left in the car, but we would rather they were never left in it. We are not responsible for cash, documents, electronics or valuables left in the vehicle.
• Tell us in advance about damage, loose trim, aftermarket parts, pets in the vehicle or anything else we should know.

What detailing can and cannot fix

We will tell you honestly what we expect to achieve before we start. Detailing is cleaning, not restoration, and some things do not come out:

• Stains, odours and discolouration that have soaked into foam or padding may not fully clear. Some need more than one session, and some are permanent.
• Headlight restoration works on the outside of the lens. Damage or clouding inside the lens cannot be fixed by restoration.
• We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, wear, rust, failing clear coat, cracked trim or parts already loose when we arrive.

Payment

Payment is due when the work is finished and you have looked the vehicle over. We accept card, cash and check. Receipts and invoices are available on request.

Memberships

Monthly memberships are billed each month in advance. Your price is fixed for as long as you stay on the plan. You can cancel any month, with no contract and no cancellation fee. Cancelling stops future billing; it does not refund the month already paid. Unused visits do not roll over.

Gift certificates

Gift certificates have no expiration date and are transferable to another person. They cannot be redeemed for cash except where Illinois law requires it. If a service costs more than the certificate, the difference is payable at the appointment.

Photographs

We photograph our work to show the results. These photos show the vehicle only — never licence plates, documents or anything identifying the owner. If you would rather we did not photograph your vehicle, tell us and we will not.

Liability

We work carefully and we carry our own equipment and products. If we damage your vehicle through our own fault, tell us at the appointment or as soon as you notice, and we will put it right.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim connected with a service is limited to the amount you paid for that service, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost time, lost earnings or the cost of alternative transport.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, and any dispute will be handled in the courts of Cook County, Illinois.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version published on this page at the time you book is the one that applies to your booking.
